Chuck Berry - Décadas de 50 e 60

O nosso camarada Arthur Falco solicitou insistentemente a postagem da discografia do Chuck Berry. Foi muito difícil encontrar os álbuns do Berry na Web mas, com persistência, consegui levantar a discografia (quase completa) das décadas de 60 e 70, as mais significativas, na minha opinião.

Então, vamos a ela:

"Berry foi influenciado por Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan e Muddy Waters, que acabaria o apresentando a Leonard Chess, da gravadora Chess. Enquanto ainda existem controvérsias sobre quem lançou o primeiro disco de rock, as primeiras gravações de Chuck Berry, como "Maybellene", de 1955, sintetizavam totalmente o formato rock and roll, combinando blues com música country e versos juvenis sobre garotas e carros, com dicção impecável e diferentes solos de guitarra.

A maioria de suas gravações mais famosas foram lançadas pela Chess Records, com o pianista Johnnie Johnson (o Johnny B. Goode), o baixista Willie Dixon e o baterista Fred Below. Com esta formação - e a guitarra de Berry - eles se tornaram o sumário de uma banda de rock.

Durante sua carreira ele gravaria tanto baladas românticas (como "Havana Moon") quanto blues ("Wee Wee Hours"), mas foi no recém-nascido rock que Berry ganhou sua fama. Ele gravou mais de trinta sucessos a aparecerem no Top Ten, e suas canções ganharam versões de centenas de músicos de blues, country e rock and roll. Entre seus clássicos podemos citar "Roll Over Beethoven", "Sweet Little Sixteen", "Route 66", "Memphis, Tennessee", "Johnny B. Peter Frampton by Vicente

Peter Frampton (22 de abril de 1950) é um músico britânico mais conhecido por seu trabalho solo nos anos 70 como roqueiro de arena. Ele tornou-se famoso, entretanto, como integrante do The Herd quando tranformou-se um ídolo das adolescentes na Grã-Bretanha. Frampton ficou famoso por ser o primeiro guitarrista a utilizar do recurso da¨guitarra falada¨, que seria anos depois imitado por Slash (Guns n' Roses) e Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi). Ele então passou a trabalhar com Steve Marriott (dos The Small Faces) na banda Humble Pie, assim como em álbuns de Harry Nilsson, Jerry Lee Lewis e George Harrison. Sua estréia solo foi em 1972 com Wind of Change.

A explosão solo de Frampton veio com Frampton Comes Alive, seis vezes platina e que incluía os sucessos "Do You Feel Like We Do", "Baby, I Love Your Way" e "Show Me the Way". Foi o álbum "ao vivo" mais vendido de todos os tempos. Depois que o álbum seguinte I'm in You foi lançado, Frampton envolveu-se em um sério acidente de carro nas Bahamas. Enquanto se recuperava, ele atuou no filme Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, um fracasso retumbante. Nos anos 80, Frampton voltou a gravar, mas nunca mais retornou às paradas de sucesso. Seu último álbum foi Now, quando ele embarcou em turnê com a banda Styx para promovê-lo.

Recentemente Peter Frampton ganhou o seu primeiro Grammy pelo seu álbum totalmente instrumental "Fingerprints", lançado no fim de 2007 que conta com integrantes do Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers Band e outros. (Wikipedia)
