Widespread Panic

A Widespread Panic é uma banda americana de rock, formada em Athens, Geórgia. A formação atual inclui o guitarrista/cantor John Bell, o baixista Dave Schools, o baterista Todd Nance, o percussionista Domingo "Sunny" Ortiz, o tecladista John "JoJo" Hermann, e o guitarrista Jimmy Herring. Michael Houser e George McConnell também foram guitarristas da banda.

Desde a sua criação, em 1986, Widespread Panic alcançou o estatus de elite entre jam bands norte-americanas. Seguindo os passos de outras bandas de jam do sul daquele país, como The Allman Brothers, eles têm influências do southern rock, blues rock, rock progressivo, funk e hard rock. Eles são freqüentemente comparados a outros guerreiros da "estrada", como o Grateful Dead e Phish. Amplamente reconhecido por suas performances ao vivo, a partir de 2008, o grupo detêm o recorde de número de espectáculos esgotados no Red Rocks Amphitheatre, em Morrison , com 32 espetáculos e no Philips Arena em Atlanta, com 17.
