.38 Special é uma banda americana formada pelo vocalista Donnie Van Zant em 1975, na cidade de Jacksonville, Flórida. A banda, inicialmete, tocava southern rock, muito parecido com o Lynyrd Skynyrd, a banda do irmão mais velho de Donnie, Ronnie.

No começo dos anos 80, a banda começou a incorporar elementos do blues rock e arena rock no seu som, dando início a uma série de bem-sucedidos álbuns.

Mason Proffit
