Wolfmother é uma banda australiana de hard rock formada em Erskineville, subúrbio de Sydney, em 2000. Consiste, atualmente, em Andrew Stockdale (Vocal e guitarra solo), Ian Peres (baixo, teclado e vocal de apoio), Aidan Nemeth (guitarra base) e Dave Atkins (bateria). Segundo Andrew Stockdale, a banda é fruto de vários anos de "jams" no anonimato. A banda só viria a público por volta de 2003, lançando pouco depois o seu EP homônimo Wolfmother EP. Sua música é descrita como um Hard Rock Clássico, inspirado em grandes bandas da década de 1970 como Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin e Deep Purple, incorporando elementos do rock psicodélico e até de folk. Vencedora de um Grammy em 2007 com a canção "Woman" na categoria Melhor Desempenho de Hard Rock, concorria com bandas como System of a Down, Tool e Nine Inch Nails.
Em 2004, Wolfmother começou a aparecer em diversos eventos musicais, como o Homebake e o Big Day Out. Lançaram seu EP de estreia e auto-intitulado pela Modular Recordings em setembro do mesmo ano, alcançando a 35ª posição o que foi considerado um relativo sucesso para uma banda tão nova.
Em 2005 a banda mudou-se para Los Angeles (Estados Unidos), trabalhando com o produtor musical Dave Sardy (que já havia trabalhado anteriormente com bandas como The Dandy Warhols produzindo o seu aclamado album Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia, com os Jet e o seu Get Born e até o album Don't Believe The Truth dos Oasis) para gravar o seu álbum de estreia, lançado em outubro do mesmo ano. O primeiro single lançado foi o duplo lado A Mind's Eye/Woman.
Em 2006, a revista Rolling Stone considerou os Wolfmother como uma das dez melhores bandas para assistir. Em abril do mesmo ano, a sua canção Love Train estrelava o comercial de televisão do Apple iPod. A banda apareceu no The Late Show with David Letterman em 9 de junho. Em julho apresentaram-se no famoso festival T In The Park na Escócia, ganhando um grande público britânico.
Em agosto de 2008, são anunciadas as saídas do baixista Chris Ross e do baterista Myles Heskett da banda devido a divergências irreconciliáveis. Andrew Stockdale prometeu aos fãs que os Wolfmother iriam regressar com uma nova formação e um novo álbum que saíria no verão de 2009.
Em fevereiro do mesmo ano, a banda se apresentou em Sydney duas vezes, sob o nome de "White Feather" com a nova formação e tocou várias músicas novas. Screaming Trees foi uma banda de rock dos Estados Unidos, considerada parte do movimento grunge do início dos anos noventa. O som da banda era uma mistura da psicodelia dos anos sessenta com o rock agressivo da costa oeste dos Estados Unidos. Embora os críticos elogiassem o grupo, ele jamais alcançou o status de outras bandas do movimento, como o Nirvana e o Soundgarden. A banda acabou em 2000, quatro anos após seu último lançamento, "Dust", de 1996.
O Screaming Trees foi formado em Ellensburg, cidade próxima de Seattle, no estado de Washington, em 1985, pelos amigos Mark Lanegan, Van Conner e Gary Lee Conner. O nome da banda foi retirado de um pedal de distorção. A gravação do primeiro álbum da banda, "Clairvoyance", ocorreu em 1986. A boa repercussão do disco na época levou a um contrato com o selo SST Records - a gravadora independente mais importante daquela década.
O primeiro álbum pela nova gravadora foi "Even If and Especially When", lançado em 1987. A característica do Screaming Trees era o som que mistura a psicodelia dos anos sessenta com o hard rock dos anos setenta, além de toda a agressividade do rock de garagem das bandas dos anos oitenta. Ainda pela SST foram lançados os álbuns "Other Worlds", "Invisible Lantern", ambos em 1988, e "Buzz Factory", no ano seguinte.
Durante os anos noventa, alguns membros da banda participam de projetos paralelos, enquanto o grupo assinava no início daquela década com o selo Epic Records. Em 1991, foi lançado "Uncle Anesthesia", que contou com a participação de Chris Cornell, vocalista do Soundgarden, como produtor do álbum. Antes do início da turnê de divulgação do disco, o baterista Pickerel deixou a banda e retornou a Ellensburg onde abriu uma loja de discos.
O auge do Screaming Trees veio em 1992, quando o grupo lançou o álbum "Sweet Oblivion", que contou com canções como "Dollar Bill", "Julie Paradise", "Winter Song" e "Nearly Lost You", o carro-chefe do disco. O álbum vendeu cerca de 300 mil cópias, graças a exposição do videoclipe desta canção.
O Screaming Trees só retomaria as atividades em 1995, com a gravação do seu último álbum, "Dust", lançado em 1996. Após o fim da turnê deste disco, a banda se dissolveu, embora se reunisse esporadicamente até 2000. [Wikipedia]

Gov’t Mule é uma jam band de southern rock formada em 1994 pelo guitarrista Warren Haynes e o baixista Allen Woody, da Allman Brothers Band, que juntaram-se a Matt Abts, baterista. A idéia inicial era apenas um projeto paralelo ao Allman Brothers que revivesse os famosos power-trios das décadas de 60 e 70. A primeira apresentação da banda aconteceu em maio de 1994 no The Palamino, Hollywood, com um repertório que mesclava composições próprias com alguns covers que ganhavam uma roupagem totalmente diferente, característica que a banda preserva até hoje. Outra característica do Gov’t Mule é praticamente não repetir os sets dos shows, sempre apresentando uma novidade. Talvez por isso eles permitam que seus shows sejam gravados e ainda reservam um espaço do seu site oficial para que os fãs façam trocas dessas gravações.
Em 1995 lançam seu primeiro álbum (Gov’t Mule) gravado praticamente ao vivo no estúdio com exceção de alguns poucos over-dubs citados no encarte. Os shows passam a ser cada vez mais concorridos e, em 1996, lançam seu primeiro álbum ao vivo, “Live At Roseland Ballroom”. Ainda em 1996 vem ao Brasil para o Nescafé & Blues Festival, se apresentando em São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro e Porto Alegre. No mesmo ano Warren Haynes é eleito pela segunda vez consecutiva “The Best Slide Guitarrist” pela Guitar Player americana. Em 1997 é lançado outro álbum de estúdio, “Dose” . Em 1999 é lançado outro ao vivo, desta vez duplo, “Live … With a Little Help From Our Friends”, gravado de uma apresentação em Atlanta. Como o show teve mais de 4 horas de duração (!), alguns fãs não ficaram totalmente satisfeitos e, por isso, foi lançado um box-set com a apresentação completa.
Em 2000 lançam o terceiro álbum de estúdio, “Life Before Insanity”. Porém, em agosto do mesmo ano, Allen Woody é encontrado morto na suíte de um hotel em New york por causas não divulgadas. Como a banda já se preparava para iniciar as gravações do próximo álbum, resolveram convidar vários baixistas para substituir Allen Woody. Em 2001 é lançado “Deep End- Part I” com participações de John Entwistle, Flea, Jack Bruce e Roger Glover entre outros. Em 2002 sai “Deep End- Part II”, agora com Chris Squire, Jason Newsted, Les Claypool etc. Finalmente, em 2003, foi gravado e filmado em New Orleans um show com mais de 5 horas de duração com diversos convidados. O resultado foi o lançamento de “Deepest End- Live In Concert” em cd duplo mais DVD mostrando o show completo, sendo metade em vídeo e metade em áudio. Em 2004 o Gov’t Mule apresenta seu novo line-up, com Andy Hess efetivado como baixista e agora com um tecladista, Danny Louis. Com esse time lançam o álbum “Déjà Voodoo”.
Como muitas jam bands, a Gov't Mule não é muito tocada nas rádios mas é popular pelos seus constantes shows. Muitos músicos de rock, declaram que a Gov't Mule é sua banda favorita, incluindo James Hetfield do Metallica e Henry Rollins da Black Flag e Rollins Band.
